keep-up-the-motivation

I know, it’s tough to stay motivated when you are on that mission to lose weight!

I love going to the gym, but sometimes it really does feel like a chore, when I eat fresh fruit and vegetables I really do feel so much better, but sometimes I just want a hug bar of choccy! exciting-ideas-for-fast-but-healthy-weight-loss-in-2010

The challenge to lose weight is too general and broad a goal.

There’s no definite goal-setting (how much weight?), no methods (how to do it?), and no deadline (by the summer? by 2011?) in this objective.

For the same reason, many people do make New Year’s resolutions to lose weight, but eventually fail.

However, with the following few simple tips and a true New Year approach you can succeed Read more »

Obesity Triples In Under 5 Years

Posted By: Latest News Nov 03 2009

Research by the NHS Information Centre has revealed shocking increases in obesity levels across the UK.

In their report, the NHS announced statistics which suggest obesity has more than tripled in the last 5 years, boosting hospital admissions by 60% during 2009 alone.

Included in these admissions were cases of organ failure, Type 2 diabetes and heart disease – all conditions that can easily be attributed to the growing obesity epidemic that is sweeping the globe.

Even surgical procedures such as stomach stapling have witnessed rapid increases over the last few years.

According to the NHS, over 8,085 admissions occurred during 2008/09, an increase of over 3,000 more admissions compared to 2007/09 and 6,000 more than 2003/04.

Placed side by side it is undeniable that the UK is in the midst of an epidemic:

  • 2003/04: 1,746 obesity related admissions
  • 2007/08: 5,056 obesity related admissions
  • 2008/09: 8,085 obesity related admissions

The question now rests on: what is going to be done about it?

Sound healthy? It isn’t. Read more »

secrets-to-weight-loss-success

We have all got our own weight loss ambitions. Whether it is to lose 5lbs, 20lbs or even 100lbs, we all begin at the same point: wondering what to do first.

After having both my children I was determined to 36lbs. I tried everything. From practically starving myself on 500 calories a day, to following ridiculous soup diets that only helped to make my sugar cravings even worse. Nothing worked!

The problem was, after making the decision to lose weight I didn’t have a clue where to start or how to maintain the momentum. I would lose 5-6lbs and then relapse whenever I hit a hurdle.

Now my goal today is not to tell you my life story – sorry I did go into memoir mode a minute ago lol – no, what I wanted to discuss in this blog was all the different weight loss tools that are available. The market is flooded with them, but which ones work? Read more »
