After a good workout at the gym or even a quick walk around the office, water is the best way to keep your body well hydrated.

Even though it’s a good idea to keep an ice cold bottle of water by your side, you may be surprised to know that the food you eat also is a good source of water.

About 20% of your total daily water intake comes from food. For instance, most fruits and vegetables, like tomatoes, grapes, citrus fruits and watermelon, are at least 90% water by weight. Read more »

Well, here we are at the start of a new year.

For most of us this means making some changes to our exercise routines and eating habits.

Weight Loss Operations

This morning as I was surfing the internet I came across an interesting article about weight loss and surgery. They said that the amount of people scheduling to have their stomachs stapled and other operations pertaining to weight loss has risen by over 50% within the last 12 months. Three quarters of these procedures were performed on women. My question is this. Are women more likely than men to be obese? Cutting Back on Sugar

Sugar, how can an ingredient that makes everything taste so good be so bad for us? I don’t know either but it just does. It is a fact that women should have no more than 6 teaspoon of sugar, or 100 calories of adder sugar per day. That’s right my coffee drinking friends. The recommended limit of sugar for men is 9 teaspoons, or 150 calories per day. Now let me say this, the sugar that I am talking about here is added sugar, in other words the sweeteners and syrups that they add into foods and drinks during manufacturing and processing at a plant or by you at the table. The good news is that this does not apply to sugar that occurs naturally such as those found in fruit, vegetables or even in dairy products. Read more »
